Aye Up fellow Leeds United fans – “God’s Country’s” finest! My name is Matt and I’ve been following this great club for the best part of 30 years, through all of our highs and lows (mainly lows!), but one thing I’ve noticed is that, ALAW!

Through thick and thin, one thing I love about this club is that everyone is in it together, owners, managers and players come and go, though one constant remains. Us fans! We have our fair share of haters – I think that works in our favour – we’re all in this together and it makes success all the more sweeter. Although I grew up in York, I was born near Leeds and was raised a fan at a time when ‘that lot’ (I’m sure no hints are necessary) were dominating.

My Uncle Mick was definitely a big influence as well, having seen us in the Revie era and he took me to my first game – a win against West Ham at home when Bowyer scored from the edge of the box.

Like many of you, I remember us down in the doldrums (the dark ages of our history basically), when we were coming out in our thousands week-in, week-out, rain or shine and most of the time sounding like the home side with our infectious, passionate and raucous support when playing away.

I’m sure I speak for every Leeds United fan, far and wide, when I say I’d love to see us back competing at the highest level, enjoying Elland Road Champions League nights, Deportivo La Coruna anyone? The odd FA Cup wouldn’t go amiss either. Wembley seems wasted on clubs with a quiet, tinpot fan base doesn’t it?

No doubt, we’re going to go through many more ups and downs over the next few years, though, you can rely on AllLeeds to be right there by your side, to help get you through whatever is thrown at us.

I was also a professional sports journalist for a while – there was a time (well over a decade ago) when you could find me in the press box of many a football or rugby stadium, attending press conferences and trying to get the latest scoop. I even remember as a ‘kid’ trying my luck with Rafa Benitez – asking him who Liverpool were looking at in the transfer window – obviously, nada but, he liked the size of my balls for someone of my age and limited experience.

I hope you enjoy visiting AllLeeds – it is something that I put a considerable amount of time into – my intention being to bring you content that is informative, original and, most of all, enjoyable. It really is, ah..”*site before self”, haha – I have to give credit to my friend and fellow Leeds fan, Thomas for that…I liked it. With that, MOT and ALAW!
